The Story

It’s a story about three friends, distressed from what is happening in their office lives. They decide to go on vacations to have a break from this. During their long journey by train, they start discussing about it to relieve their mind. One of the passengers also accompanies him and shares his bitter experiences.

Now what started as a simple conversation to pass the long hours on a boring journey becomes a compelling tale about the tumultuous and sometimes hilarious relationship with their respective bosses that have casted different positive and negative effects in their office life.

The agony and distress they face every day in office as employees, the extra mile they go to keep their bosses happy to clear their path of happiness & personal growth, becomes a gripping tale about the relationship between employees and bosses, their feelings, thoughts, opinions, attitude and behaviour towards each other.

Aspirations Vs Time is an engrossing story from an employee’s point of view and explores unspoken truths, hidden undercurrents and almost everything that occurs in modern offices.

About the Author

The Author is as simple as a normal person is… But equipped with little more trust in God, who has guided the Author across various adverse circumstances and give him the continuous reason & inspiration to fight against all the Odds of life & situations…

The Author is an `Architect’ by education & profession & `A little rebellion’ by thinking in his own way, but again, he is no more different with a normal human being…

The Author is currently practicing as an `Architect & Designer’ of buildings & interiors and also simultaneously assisting HR (Human Resource) people in some aspects of `Organizational Behaviour’.

The Initial Days of Professional life

In general, author started his career with lots of curiosity after he passed out of the college completing his bachelor degree in Architecture (B.Arch.), which lead him experimenting with many things. This gave him instability in initial years of his life. Temptations of exploring different directions tended the Author to experiment and develop his mind & personality in many fronts.

But while doing all of this in the due course of time, the Author also went through different job experiences of few small & big organizations and got the various opportunities to see different bosses at different levels, their different ways of handling the businesses, staff and offices, which is accumulated and documented in the form of this book.

The day, author went into professional life, he has seen many oscillating moments of life, part of which are many achievements giving him the mental satisfaction where he used to celebrate his freedom of thoughts & actions, while part of it are the bad experiences of low phases also, when author used to have no job and borrow money from his family for even his basic expenses, but these varying phases have taught him the many lessons of life.

The Inspiration

The fighting attitude against adverse conditions & doing its own analysis to know the exact reasons behind the suffering of employees, which developed many insights in Author’s mind and later on which formed the basis for this book. The given write up in many places indicates hopeless employee’s wish to give an immediate reaction to the situations, but subsequently the hopeful ending of conversation shows Author’s willingness to show them the way of positive thinking for their better future.

Here Author starts the conversation straightforwardly with the darkness of thoughts that employees are facing today and then has taken this conversation to the path of finding solutions & handling it in an enlightened way, rather than only criticizing it.

Author knows that the boss of today used to be an employee yesterday, thus he believes that boss can’t be insensitive towards his employees, but most of the times, it is the circumstances that make a person insensitive towards his surroundings & make him forget about every lesson that he learnt during his life.

Author believes that the world of organizational behaviour can be developed as more perfect, if there are highly sensitive bosses, to take care of employees growing needs of life, but what happens if the bosses are insensitive. It ends up creating a number of situations in office life, where author have tried to cover some of them in the book that give many insights on the situations when there are quality or ambitious employees working with insensitive bosses.

The Book as a Guide

The book may guide and prepare the employees mentally for the situations based on given experiences and thus it may help employees to save their precious time of their life, which they spend to develop an understanding about the organization over a period of time, they are working for, but by the time they realize it, a lots of time has already been lost since then. This book may help to understand such culture in their organization and develop insights of realizing the favourable or unfavourable trends much before it happens.

But what is that has inspired the Author to write this book for Employees other than the inspiration?

It is definitely the reason of bringing the cause in front of the people about the treatment that has been going on with the employees over a period of long time of many centuries, which is happening in many ways and is actually a reason for his distressed mind. The book showcases probably few’ or probably many’ of these situations perfectly and is a perfect example of Author’s willingness to bring a little change in this system, where organizations should also think about developing the office culture, while keeping in mind the employees perspectives.

The book showcases the author’s interpretation of `Righteousness’ on the situations that he has encountered, felt, learnt and fought during his professional life so far in the interest of employees & that has been gathered in the form of sensitivities of `Organizational Behaviour’ in his Professional life experiences.

Author sees many things in a situation or have analysed the situations in many ways in order to depict that the problem may have any face, shape or form, but it is not invincible. It has the solution, which can be seen in the light of positive outlook towards life & the world. If the outlook is positive, the problems will definitely meet to an end and its solutions will be endless like an ocean or a sky and will devise many solutions to one problem…
